Autism: Balance and Frequency

You teach a little by what you say.

You teach the most by what you are.

–Henrietta C Mears

Success has nothing to do with what you gain

in life or accomplish for yourself.

It’s what you do for others.

–Danny Thomas

A while back I did an entry about ADD ADHD and in that entry I promised to write about Autism. I didn’t realize it was going to be such a while until I actually got around to it!

Autism is a very interesting study from the medical intuitive point of view. I have mentioned it in passing in several entries and talked about it in my workshops, yet I have not really addressed it in my Kick! Autism can often be referred to as “autism spectrum disorder” (ASD) and the word “spectrum” should be noticed as there is an entire wave of individuals diagnosed with some form of autism, in a sense it is a “catch-all”  for behavioral patterns that fall within certain categories involving communication and interaction challenges.

Autism in the form that we have become familiar with as a society will appear in early childhood — usually before age 3. Though symptoms and severity vary, all autism disorders affect a child’s ability to communicate and interact with others. There was the initial school of thought that those teaching with Autism had little or no emotions or an inability to express emotions, but that is not the case, this misconception is due to their challenges with communication and interaction.

You may have noticed that I did not refer to these individuals as “having’ autism or “suffer” from autism? I chose my wording carefully, they are not even LEARNING from Autism, as I often refer to those that are experiencing dis-ease as “learning” from it. Well, those experiencing autism are teaching, they are here on this earth to teach. It is a tough concept to grasp, but even the souls that are experiencing autism do not see that anything is “wrong” with them, they do not need “fixed” or “healed”.

Now that being said, they do want to make the connection, but they are literally on a higher frequency than the rest of us! I often talk about souls on this earth that are what I refer to as “white lighters”. These are individuals that are in perfect balance, and when we are in perfect balance as energetic beings, we are walking rainbows and when each center is in balance, they unite to create the white light of enlightenment.

The base center is located at the pelvic floor, right at the base of the spine, and then the second center is below the naval, it vibrates orange. Moving up the body, the stomach is yellow, heart/chest center green, throat is blue, brow center/forehead is indigo and the crown then is a large glowing white. White is the combination of all your balanced colors, and those in balance have a huge white energy field, I refer to them as “Angels Incarnate”.  They are NOT common, as we are not in balance, we are constantly interacting with our emotions and our energy influences and is influenced by our surroundings and those residing in it.

I have seen eight “white lighter’s”in my lifetime and believe it or not, many have been those teaching with Down’s Syndrome! They are all such angels, I just love these old souls. But year’s ago when I was at Integrated Health Concepts, a clinic I co-founded with a family practice physician we were visited by a woman and her eighteen year old autistic son. I had been out on errands and had just walked in the door and she was sitting in a chair looking at a book, he was over in the corner looking at some items that were sitting on a shelf.

I walked through the door and BAM! He definitely caught my attention, I thought he WAS an angel. For a moment I questioned whether “they” were coming for me! Hah! His energy was so intense it was difficult for me to see him through it all, he turned and I walked right up to him. He shook my hand, as that was his greeting, (his repeated greeting, I might add). I was honored because after our meeting and our talk when it was time to leave he gave me the biggest hug! and I remember his mother standing there in shock because he did not hug anyone.

I smiled and told her that her son and I were “old friends” and he felt comfortable in my energy, just as I felt comfortable in his. He was not my first client with Autism, but I believe he was introduced to me in order to help me understand and discern the different levels of lessons involved with the entire spectrum of autistic dis-orders.

I didn’t realize then that I would, in just a couple short years be working with the autistic on a weekly basis as a volunteer for Copper Crest Therapeutic Horseback Riding. Just last week, Sam Champion of Good Morning America highlighted his sister as his inspiration. She is the mother of an autistic son, Sam’s nephew, and in the profile what came to light, but therapeutic horseback riding!

Before I talk about the benefits of horses, I think it is important to offer a list of what the medical community has collected in regards to common challenges associated with autism. I took this list from the Mayo Clinic site on autism awareness. I would like to share with you that part of what I do as a medical intuitive, is to define the problem. I am trained as a designer, with experience in both graphic and industrial design, and with that being said, you cannot solve a problem unless you define it.

Look at this list and discern how many of these issues reference energy, frequency, and grounding. Then you can draw the commonalities and with that, figure out just what can help.

Social skills

* Fails to respond to his or her name

* Has poor eye contact

* Appears not to hear you at times

* Resists cuddling and holding

* Appears unaware of others’ feelings

* Seems to prefer playing alone — retreats into his or her “own world”

Language

* Starts talking later than other children

* Loses previously acquired ability to say words or sentences

* Does not make eye contact when making requests

* Speaks with an abnormal tone or rhythm — may use a singsong voice or robot-like speech

* Can’t start a conversation or keep one going

* May repeat words or phrases verbatim, but doesn’t understand how to use them

Behavior

* Performs repetitive movements, such as rocking, spinning or hand-flapping

* Develops specific routines or rituals

* Becomes disturbed at the slightest change in routines or rituals

* Moves constantly

* May be fascinated by parts of an object, such as the spinning wheels of a toy car

* May be unusually sensitive to light, sound and touch and yet oblivious to pain

I have been absolutely fascinated by the exchange of love and energy between the horses and the individuals that sit atop that horse. I wrote about The Color of Horses last year and talked at length about their energy. Horses can ground and channel the energy that surrounds the individual, calming them down and in a sense, horses help “change the channel”. I even wrote about horses and healing in previous entries.

I put it this way because the basic characteristic of those teaching with autism is the huge amount of energy they have in their field. It is as if all the energy they are supposed to have in their body is in an electrical cloud OUTSIDE their body. More than anything, they are on a higher frequency and it is difficult to communicate to them on that frequency, they need it lowered, grounded, channeled so to speak.

That is why there is not an intelligence issue, almost as if they can pick up twice as much information, twice as quickly, yet cannot reciprocate back to us because they can’t lower the frequency long enough to relay all they know. That is where the horses come in, these wonderful creatures are very grounding and they help channel the energy. Horses help slow down the energy enough to allow a window of interaction. This window is NOT just while they are on the horse, it lasts for days, just like a wonderful massage or a relaxed time in the hot tub goes beyond the time spent in the therapy.

Other benefits go beyond the grounding and the energy that is directed between the horse and the rider (if that isn’t enough of a convincer). Balance is key. My partner, Tom and I have it dubbed, the “B” word…balance is not just about the literal benefit of balancing on the horse. Balancing on a horse does utilize all the core muscles that are needed to achieve that balance. The horses, the barn, the volunteers, even the dogs, and the cats, all offer a sense of equilibrium between environments. Not to “video you” to extremes, I wanted to include yet another entry video from last year to help explain the energy that surrounds these wonderful animals:

Did you notice I put a plural on the word environment? The autistic environment that I experience is a push-me pull-you between the material world and the “other side”. One very special family close to Tom and I have a grown daughter with autism. What I see and hear around her is nothing short of amazing. She has many guides and angels around her and she can often repeat what they are saying. I have sat with her and put a thought in my head and she has repeated the exact thought! Telepathy at is best. Again, it is a frequency thing, and grounding/balancing is important. And she is involved with the therapeutic horseback riding, but also intuitively her parents have a farm and are avid gardeners which give her the grounding she requires, literally. They are a truly amazing family, and she is a truly amazing soul.

I have put it out there in workshops and have talked to physical therapists about how to teach or to communicate the importance of deep, grounding breaths when trying to get them calm or quiet. My experience with the individuals that shout or whoop or even rock is that there is a need to get grounded and get a deep breath. It is challenging to attempt to show or try to help them achieve this. Some don’t even want to ground and get back in that body which makes it even more of a challenge!

I have had several protocols come across my desk concerning help for those teaching with autism. Breathing is major, but also the grounding and the balance. Another interesting thought is what is out there to help “lower” that frequency and quiet it enough to allow communication and interaction?

There are many “treatments” but not any cures, some as controversial as medical marijuana. Ultimately, as I found with my research over the years, even documented results with the medical marijuana, it is all about finding balance. That is because it is all about frequency and balancing out that energy.

Copper Crest Therapeutic Riding Academy is like so many other small non-profits these days, it is being squeezed tight by the economy. But even more so, there are individuals that can benefit from this program. Your donation allows us to provide services to those that otherwise could not participate. Copper Crest is my charity of choice because I am there, I volunteer, raise money, and donate money to keep the program running. I am very fortunate, I can see on a weekly basis how your donation brings joy and makes a difference in the lives of others. Remember, money is energy! Please consider donating. Any amount of “energy” is appreciated!

This week is a continuation of the back, focusing specifically on disc issues. The actual term is intervertebral discs and they make up one fourth of the spinal column’s length. They act as cushions between the vertebrae, and are “fibrocartilaginous” and basically made up of collagen, water, and what is termed PG’s (proteoglycans) PG molecules are important because they attract and retain the water.

Knowing a little bit about discs helps you understand the metaphysical aspects, because it is not just about the region of the tissue, it is also what the tissue is comprised of. And the interesting part about discs are their function and their location. They act as cushions between the bones of our primary support system, the spine. The exterior region of the disc is called the “annulus Firbrosus” and is equated to a “radial tire-like” structure. So you can get a good idea of the strength and the function of these discs.

Discs are the spine’s shock absorbing system and they protect the nerves, the vertebrae, even the brain. There are quite a few conditions involving discs: slipped, ruptured, degenerative, bulging. With one of the key words here being pressure, as they maintain a balance in fluid and cushion between the vertebrae, and a balance between the bone (base/red energy: foundation and family), fluid (sacral/orange energy: emotions and person to person relationships), nervous system (crown white (all) energy: how we connect with the world).

It is not just about the disc, but where on your back you are having the issues. I often refer to your back as your “garbage dump.”  Disc issues can create intense pain…so I would say when it gets to that point, it is time to take out the garbage.

Your back is where we “put” issues that we do not want to address, nor do we want to let anyone else look at those issues.  The back is where we bury thoughts, feelings, emotions anything that has caused pain or confusion in our life that we just don’t want to look at right now.

I had a client several years ago, a very lovely woman, she was sweet with a heart of gold. She was on disability due to some serious issues with her back. She had degenerative discs, not just on one area either, she had them from lumbar to thoracic to cervical; the entire disc area. Typically, when the disc is pinpointed to one area, I can uncover the emotional block, in this case, she had issues in every aspect of her life that involved not feeling validated or supported.

Looking at the other issues she was learning from gave me the clues I needed to empower her to improve her overall health. She was experiencing a painful swollen lymph gland in her neck (right side) coupled with the degenerative discs dis-ease. There was also a heel spur, on her right side, and a bone spur on her left shoulder.

When a lymph node is swollen or inflamed it indicates an accumulation of regret and anger concerning a specific person or situation. In her case it was a male influence, and very much about emotions. The lymphatic system is connected with your orange energy, your sacral center and is all about emotions, creativity, and person to person relationships. Meaning it is just about one irritating person in your life, rather than a group or how you relate to others, which is your heart center, your green energy.

She consciously wanted everything to flow smoothly and the manner she expects, but cannot communicate her feelings to the person in question. In this case it was her father, her was her other person in the “person to person” energy. She used humor as her  method of communication, albeit a positive method of communicating, and I give her credit for attempting to keep those lines open. But her humor was a diversion and did not bring attention or focus to the issue at hand. Her relationship with her father was as blocked as much as her lymph glands!

The fact of the matter was that she was uncomfortable standing up for yourself and unable to move forward with her life, and her ideas. She felt that she needed that approval, that support from your father. Now, what did she need support for? She needed support and validation for her lifestyle, the life she wants to live is not a life that her parents would approved of. Her choice is to live alone, in pain, and collect her disability rather than live her truth, her chosen path. The bone spurs are yet another “brick in the wall” so to speak. The right heel keeps her from stepping/moving forward, and the left shoulder is about the pain and the burden of accepting her own place in this world.

That is why her entire back from lumbar to thoracic to cervical; the entire disc area is involved. Because it is her entire lifestyle being compromised by her lack of self-worth. This low self-esteem feeds her inability to communicate her own desires. Her back surgeries are her method of continual debilitation, her way of coping, her way of staying stuck. She is also learning from weight issues, and that contributes to the pain and the immobility.

One point I would like to make, and this is not a personal judgment call on my part, it is merely an observation. There is a powerful obstacle for many with back issues that want to move forward. The obstacle is being on disability. It is not a conscious fear or sabotage, it is often subconscious, and it is a legitimate concern. I have to take disability benefits into account not only as a medical intuitive, but as a Consulting Hypnotist helping clients with chronic pain.

As a consultant, I have to pay attention to the “payoff” and if you cannot redirect, refocus the “payoff” then often it is a challenge to help them release the pain, and therefore the issue. This is not about wanting to stay on disability, it is about the fear issues involved if he or she were to get better and lose their disability.

In order to move forward and release the pain and the issues behind the pain, a client has to define his or hers “happy”, redefine his or hers life, his or hers path, including relationships and career. I know, that can be very intimidating, but can be very rewarding. After all, the issues manifested originally to help them “course correct” and put them on the road to being happy and fulfilling their life’s purpose.

Realizing that an intervertebral disc is a protector and a shock absorber, protecting the home of our central nervous system: the spinal column really does put the seriousness of the lesson in perspective. It is a serious message from your body to stand up for your beliefs and release the need to be validated or supported by anyone other than yourself.

A disc that gets out of alignment “slips” and immediately creates intense pain. It doesn’t really slip, it is said to have split or ruptured. A ruptured disc leaks out a jelly-like substance (nucleus pulposus) which is the center of the disc. When this occurs your back is saying that there is so much frustration and anger built up, due in part because you kept “adding” to the garbage dump rather than dealing with the garbage. You thought you were just holding your own. But at some point you need to address that one area of your life where you feel unprotected and vulnerable. When you can’t take it anymore the disc ruptures. Where is that disc located? That is the area of your life where you do not feel  “anchored” and now you are on “uneven ground.”

A “bulging disc” is not bulging necessarily, but swells so much it becomes “wedged” applying pressure on all the discs around it. Fluid/water is emotion, so you are holding in your emotions and throwing them on your back (burying the garbage) so you don’t have to address it just yet. Where it is located will tell you where you feel you are under too much pressure, someone is on your last nerve, literally.

For your reference, here is a quick overview of the areas…for more info, go to last week’s entry.

Sacrum/Coccyx: Lessons with this area involve fear regarding survival, and that can include the survival of your freedom. (Look at job, marriage, even parents/family)

Lumbar: This is the area about material loss, the fear of losing things you have or frustration in not obtaining things you want.

Dorsal: The upper back is about emotional insecurity, and fear of rejection.

Cervical: When there are issues with the neck and you have limited movement, this represents limited views. There is a bit of stubbornness (stiffness) because the only view you have is what is directly in front of you.

Until next week! Blessings, Catherine

Sarah Cynthia Sylvia Stout Would Not Take The Garbage Out

Sarah Cynthia Sylvia Stout

Would not take the garbage out!

She’d scour the pots and scrape the pans,

Candy the yams and spice the hams,

And though her daddy would scream and shout,

She simply would not take the garbage out.

And so it piled up to the ceilings:

Coffee grounds, potato peelings,

Brown bananas, rotten peas,

Chunks of sour cottage cheese.

It filled the can, it covered the floor,

It cracked the window and blocked the door

With bacon rinds and chicken bones,

Drippy ends of ice cream cones,

Prune pits, peach pits, orange peel,

Gloppy glumps of cold oatmeal,

Pizza crusts and withered greens,

Soggy beans and tangerines,

Crusts of black burned buttered toast,

Gristly bits of beefy roasts…

The garbage rolled on down the hall,

It raised the roof it broke the wall…

Greasy napkins, cookie crumbs,

Globes of gooey bubble gum.

Cellophane from green baloney,

Rubbery blubbery macaroni,

Peanut butter caked and dry,

Curdled milk and crust of pie,

Moldy melons, dried-up mustard,

Eggshells mixed with lemon custard,

Cold french fried and rancid meat,

Yellow lumps of Cream of Wheat.

At last the garbage reached so high

That finally it touched the sky.

And all the neighbors moved away,

And none of her friends would come to play.

And finally Sarah Cynthia Stout said,

“OK, I’ll take the garbage out!”

But then, of course, it was too late…

The garbage reached across the state,

From New York to the Golden Gate.

And there, in the garbage she did hate,

Poor Sarah met an awful fate,

That I cannot right now relate

Because the hour is much too late.

But children, remember Sarah Stout

And always take the garbage out!

OK, what does this poem have to do with your back? Well, actually, there are quite a lot of similarities. I also invite you to read this once again AFTER you ready this entry. It  is an amazing metaphor. I could use this in my entry where I talk about “cascading” because it explains that concept very well. I will use the reference here, however, because in my workshops and talks I often refer to your back as your “garbage dump.”

Your back is where we “put” issues that we do not want to address, nor do we want to let anyone else look at those issues.  Our back is where we bury thoughts, feelings, memories, anything that have caused pain or confusion in our life that we just don’t want to look at right now. In a sense, you want to “save it for later” and like Sarah Cynthia Sylvia Stout your garbage sits, then builds up until your back cannot take it anymore. Next, what seems to be the least opportune time, we have pain or back problems.

The back is made up of many muscles, the spinal cord, and then the spinal column, which has 33 vertebrae. There are disc problems, slipped discs, ruptured disks, as well as other serious problems, including chronic pain and paralysis. We also have the more minor back issues, such as acne, cysts, sore or pulled muscles. Quite a bit to tackle, so this entry will be divided up in the next few weeks.

Just as I do with the body, the back is also divided up into

left side: allowing, receiving, feminine influence

right side: releasing, masculine influence

There are also regions that represent different aspects of your life, so looking at which side you have issues offers more clarity to the issue you need to address. If you are having issues with your back in general, and both sides are affected, then I look at which region and we move forward with that information. These regions are influenced by the corresponding emotion centers, as your energy centers resonate within the body and therefore both sides, front and back are represented by the corresponding emotions.

Sacrum/Coccyx: This area is located at the base of the spine, and corresponds with your base or red energy center. Lessons with this area involve fear regarding survival, and that can include the survival of your freedom. This could be fear of HAVING freedom and not knowing what to do with the responsibility (look back at my entry on asthma for a possible cascade effect in this area) or it could represent the fear of LOSING your freedom.

Lately with the economy, I have found that there are many individuals learning from lower back issues. It is the manifestation of fear for their own survival. Fear of losing a job, fear of finances, foreclosure, even fear of losing your family through divorce or other issues  Many people that are in a position that they hate develop lower back lessons, as well as those that are very worried about finances.

Lumbar: This is the area we regard as our waist. I am tempted to type the word, “waste” because it is about material loss, the fear of losing our “stuff”. This area is from the fifth lumbar to the eleventh, it is often still considered your lower back, often people will grip their “kidney area” when they are experience pain in the middle region…you are dealing with survival issues just as with the sacral but it is geared more toward the material things, such as car, house, items of importance rather than the bigger picture issues that represent your very survival such as job, family, financial security, things that we consider the sacred to our way of living.

Thoracic: This is the area above the lumbar, the upper back area beginning at the waist, tenth dorsal vertebrae to the cervical vertebrae, which is the neck.  The upper back is about emotional insecurity, and fear of rejection. It corresponds with both the heart center, which is relationships, as well as being influenced by the solar plexus, your sense of self. Issues here can be associated with doing a lot (even over doing) in order to show others love and security.

When there is pain in this region of the back it literally means that you take a lot on (your back). You may have hesitation asking for help (support). How much do you “do” for others? If you do a lot for others, it is because that is the way you show you care. It is also the way you define caring, so when others do for you, you know they care and you feel more secure. If you do ask for help or support from others and they don’t deliver, it can manifest more pain.

Shoulders represent a burden, or what you are carrying around with you energetically. I often think of oxen and the yoke they wear to haul things around. Shoulder and shoulder blade issues are all about the worry and burdens you are hauling around. Often it is one side or the other, so it is about the stress and worry of waiting for things to manifest (left) or the burden of how to let something (or someone) go (right).

Cervical: Well, the term “pain in the neck” really does say it all. The neck when flexible allows us to see all around us, to see the world from all sides. When there are issues with the neck and it is stiff or you have limited movement, this represents limited views. There is a bit of stubbornness (stiffness) because the only view you have is what is directly in front of you.

The neck is also THE connector of the mind and the body. Everything passes through here, food, air, thoughts, blood…all is connected with the neck. Looking at what feels disconnected in your life, particularly in regard to relationships may help identify the tissue issues with the neck.

Next week I will address discs, slipped, ruptured, degenerative…keep this “regional” information close for reference. It is not just about the disc, but where on your back you are having the issues. Until next week! Blessings, Catherine

Wes Moore: A Study in Numerology

Thursday, May 6th, 2010

“But he said the other thing that he realized from the book was how little he’s done with his life. He said, he said, listen, I’ve wasted every opportunity I’ve ever had in life and I’m going to die in here. So if you can do something to help people understand the ramifications of their decisions and do something to help people understand the neighborhoods in which these decisions are being made, then I think you should do it.

And I’m glad I did it because I think I’m a better person because of this process, and I think I rediscovered a part of myself that I never even dreamed and never even imagined was even there.”

–Wes Moore, the author of “The Other Wes Moore: One Name, Two Fates” in an NPR interview

Well, this week’s topic got bumped until next week because something caught my attention on Sunday Morning with Charles Osgood. I look forward to it every week, it is my “cultural fix”. A couple of week’s ago a segment on bonsai trees inspired me to turn my Holly bush into a tree! It is happy with its transformation…(and you thought I only helped people get out of their own way!)

This week there was a fascinating story about a man named Wes Moore, actually two men named Wes Moore. One grew up to be a Rhodes Scholar, decorated combat veteran serving in Afghanistan, business leader, and now an author. The other is serving a life sentence for murdering an off-duty police officer.

An article on the NPR website distinguishes the two by “Wes Moore, the achiever” and “Wes Moore, the prisoner”  and I am still trying to figure out just exactly how to distinguish them…perhaps there will be an answer at the end of this entry. I attempted to find out some birth information, but could only find Wes Moore, the achiever’s full name as Westley Moore, not sure about middle name, and the birth date for him was September 3, 1978. So, because I cannot really compare fully, I will talk about their Minor Vibration, or what I refer to as their “common name” which is the name “Wes Moore”. I will also address how two men can have the same name yet have a completely different outcome. This will serve as a nice lesson on the power of your “common” name…

What is to be noticed when you look into their story is the parallel circumstances in their life. This is a wonderful example of just how powerful not only your name can be, but how that name contributes to the energy of the circumstances around us. We attract what we give the most thought to, and much of what we want in life and who we are on a human level can be influenced, if not determined by the energy of your name.

Think about the difference in your childhood, your college life, adult life, personal and professional lives. Does everyone refer to you with the same name? Usually not, nicknames, married names, professional (formal) names all have different energy attached with them. Women that do not give up their career when they marry, often do not give up their name. When women marry and take on the name of the husband, often their lives change more dramatically (based on the numbers, of course). Often the husband, whose name does not change has a less dramatic shift in his lifestyle. When children enter the mix, we then accept “mom” or “dad” and lives shift again! It is an amazing study. (by the way, “mom” is a 14/5, restricted freedom…”dad” is a 9, the ending of life as he knows it! lol)

I will often look at the minor or common name in a reading when there are issues with women and their relationships. This helps me see what lessons the husband and marriage brought into a woman’s life. It is a good indication if you are having trouble with your marriage, trouble with the husband, or if it an issue YOU need to address rather than blaming something (or someone) else.

Looking at the numbers for Wes Moore was quite amazing, I could see where the energy of these numerological vibrations could be put to various uses and how they can be interpreted in different ways. I have studied numbers over the many years. It is amazing insight into a client, their life, and the health. It is also an excellent way to understand the client, even more insightful than their astrological sign. Numerology is far more proficient at personalizing the lessons and your objective for being on this earth. Believe it or not, you did come down with directions, and so many of us just don’t ask for directions. (I am one of them, so we can’t slam the men on this one.)

Astrological information is also a significant factor, but it is my personal belief that astrology is our soul’s direction for this incarnation. Numerology is our life direction. I say this because we communicate with words, letters, and more specifically, numbers. Numbers are everywhere. Numerology deciphers what I call “energy bands” which is in reality our ego. We do not offer our astrological sign first when we meet someone, we offer our name, our name has energy. With that being said, our “common” name is the perfect expression of how we present ourselves to the world.

There are three significant numbers I tune into. I have my own personal interpretations, so if you begin to try to find references, you won’t find any one numerologist that has the same formula. That is why I base mine on what has been accurate with clients over the years and resonates with me personally. To get even more details on numerology, here is my first entry of the year which focuses on your personal year vibration. It can help you understand a little bit more…

The “Expression” number, or past life number as I call it, is the totality of all the consonants in your name, and this is brought to a single digit. I equate this number with what you packed in your suitcase and brought with you from the lifetimes you have lived. In a sense, you were allowed to bring a theme, or a bit of wisdom, a common thread from all your lives, and this vibration or quality is what you chose to bring and combine with your other qualities.

The next number that is significant is your Soul number, and this number is the totality of all the vowels in your name, again brought to a single digit. This is how you feel privately on the inside, not necessarily what you let others see. (Unless your Destiny number matches, then you are wide open).

The Destiny number is the totality of both the Past Life (consonants) and the Soul (vowels) and these are also brought to a single digit. Now, looking at the name Wes Moore, it is interesting to note that they are very powerful numbers, and really reflect BOTH of their lives. It is just a matter of how you interpret the meaning of the numbers with what has manifested in their life!

Past Life/Expression  number is a 19/1

[W=5, S=1 M=4, R=9]

[5+1+4+9=19]

[1+9=10]

[1+0=1]

Soul number is a 22/4

[E=5, O=6, O=6, E=5]

[5+6+6+5=22]

[2+2=4]

Destiny number adds up both Past Life and Soul: it is a 41/5

[19+22=41]

[4+1=5]

Alright, now what do I do with these numbers? First, I want to emphasize that the great thing about your common name numbers is that the energy can be shifted by changing your name or changing the spelling of your name to shift the energy. I work with businesses and help them with their names as well as their addresses in order to use this energy FOR positive achievements…Your birth name, the name that is on your birth certificate -even if it is Jane Doe and gets changed three hours later…it is still Jane Doe… this name is by far more significant in determining your life and your lessons, and cannot be shifted. Even if you were adopted, it is still the name on the birth certificate.

Your current name is where you are at this time in your life. Perhaps if you have been stuck for a while, you should look at changing your name…or shifting the spelling of your name.

The Past Life number, which is the energy they both brought in from other life times is itself a karmic number! There are three number combinations that really get my attention because of their information and the lessons they entail:

A 14/5 is karmic for learning about freedom by having freedom restricted. (It is also known as a media number, and can indicate fame, which again, can be about having freedom restricted…just ask any famous celebrity…)

A 16/7 is karmic for learning about relationships. I often find clients that have issues with relationships, either attracting toxic partners, or being alone yet longing for a partner, often have this number.

A 19/1 such as the Wes Moore Karmic number is often about a previous life time involving crimes against humanity. Before you go and judge or become uncomfortable with this…I have quite a few clients with this number! It can be about coming in to balance out crimes or indifference to humanity in another life. But, often it involves being a soldier, or a warrior, or a tribes man, and you did what you had to do…whether it was giving or following orders.

Many come in to balance out the decisions of that past life, either not coming to terms with what happened or they did come to terms, but they still want to be here on the other side of the humanitarian endeavors and do something positive for the souls they encountered in that past life.

What is fascinating is that both of these men, both Wes Moore’s are working through this karmic number! Wes Moore, the prisoner is in prison for life, which is one path to take: balance out the choices he made in a past life by being on the receiving end this life time. Wes Moore, the author could have had the same choice, as he had encounters with the law in his youth, yet he chose to balance his karmic obligations by reaching out to the many souls that were his “victims” (don’t like that word, but you know what I mean…) in his previous life as a soldier.

A note I would like to add, I have had many high profile clients that are in a position to touch thousands, if not millions of lives with their wisdom and goodness. Many of them have this karmic number of 19/1 in a prominent place, usually in their major vibration. They balance out this karmic number by helping, assisting many people. And usually it is just in passing, a kind word, or advice…yet it can often make a life shift for the other person (and the one with the 19/1 doesn’t even realize it!) Many of these souls they touch this time around were souls in their previous life that they victimized in some way.

They are balancing out their 19/1 in their own way, in their own time. That is why Wes Moore, the author is in a place to touch many many lives in a positive way. But, Wes Moore, the prisoner, is now in a different place to do the same, but for different reasons and ALSO because of the visionary characteristics of Wes Moore, the author.

The next number I look at is the Soul number, and this is amazing as well! I cannot believe how “loaded” this name is…and it is not a wonder that this information is coming out this year, as 2010 is a 3 vibrational year-all about communication and evaluating self! Their Soul number is a 22/4 which is THE MOST POWERFUL NUMBER IN THE NUMEROLOGICAL CHART.

I love this, as this gives me the opportunity to talk a little about master numbers. Master numbers are the double digits, 11, 22. 33…and so on. When you carry the Master number vibration it means that you have given yourself the opportunity, if you wish (all free will choice here…) to shift up to another level of spiritual learning/teaching.

When this number is in your major chart (birth info) you work through the single digit vibration and the lessons involved with that digit until the age of 28. At the age of 28, you have the choice then or anytime AFTER that (so no, you didn’t miss the boat if you were in “the dark” until you turned 42…) to then “vibrate” or accept the responsibilities of the Master Number.

Here we have the number 22/4. A 4 vibration involves lessons about family, relationships, your very foundation…lessons of the heart. It is also a number that represents teaching, and unconditional love. Now, I just scrolled down the NPR entry and I am laughing! I love what I do…check this out!

Both of these men, both Wes Moore’s had lessons involving family support, one sought it out with the kids on the street, the other was able to recognize that he had it with his mother and her determination to get him out of that energy! Here is an excerpt from the NPR ALL THINGS CONSIDERED with Melissa Block and Michele Norris:

Mr. MOORE: That’s exactly right. My mother always says, she says, you know, kids need to think that you care before they care what you think. What Wes saw from the streets and from, you know, the kids on the corner and the kids who were dealing was he saw kids who he felt at that time genuinely cared about him and genuinely cared about his future. And he saw what they had and the material items that they had and how cool they looked, and then you see these kids who are willing to take you in and embrace you as family.

What they say starts meaning a whole lot more than what the teachers are saying or what the community leaders are saying. And that’s that pull, that’s that draw that really dragged Wes in.

NORRIS: Now, we should say that you also had run-ins with the law yourself, and you flirted with the idea of walking across that line and leading a life that could ultimately have led to prison. But when you were arrested for spraying graffiti on a wall, you immediately knew this is not someplace I want to be. And you were with someone who had a very different reaction. He almost dealt with the cops like, come on, bring it on. I’m tougher than you are.

Mr. MOORE: That’s exactly right, and you know, I think about it, and it is almost embarrassing now to think about the fact that I was, you know, here I was with, you know, with a tremendous mother and, you know, support from family but just this draw of the streets and this challenge that I was personally having internally about what does it mean to be a man, was really pulling at me. So it manifested itself in things like vandalism and getting into fights.

And it was really at that point that my mother decided, she said, you know, I’ve got to do something different. You know, I’ve tried other schools in the Bronx, and this hasn’t worked. So I’m just going to try something completely new, and that’s when she decided to send me off to military school.

The 22 Master number that Wes Moore, the author has taken responsibility for is known as “The Master Builder”. This offers the energy and the support to not only visualize ideas and opportunities, but also (because 4 is foundation) allow the individual to bring those ideas into fruition. “Master Builder’s” cannot only think of wonderful things, they can manifest these ideas. It is the true number of the entrepreneur. It has different emphasis based on where it is in your chart, but 22 anywhere is good, as far as I am concerned.

Here, being the Soul number, it is who he genuinely is, and more importantly, it is part of his belief system. Also, the fact that it is with his common name, and it is the actual name itself which in a sense is the brand or the “commodity”  there is yet another level of building upon the hopes and dreams that he holds in his heart-and it is the name that he will build his fortune and his future upon.

The final number is the Destiny number, and this number is the totality of the Soul and the Karmic number: it is a 41/5

5 is the number for freedom, I also equate it with “sex, drugs, and rock and roll”! Not that everyone with a 5 gets into that, it is more of a description than anything else. A 5 is the adventurer, they enjoy travel and like to have their many interests. Because of the “adventure”  quality there can be a tendency to over indulge in the senses, whether it is food, alcohol, drugs, sex, even risk-taking. Wes Moore, the author was a para trooper and combat veteran in Afghanistan…that is definitely a 5 activity!

Looking at the type of “5”  can be very informative. It is a 41/5 which mirrors the karmic 14/5 (learning about freedom by having it restricted). But I also look at the 1=independence and individuality + 4 which is family and foundations…meaning part of the karmic aspect is about the individual learning about the importance of family and foundation by having it taken away…

They both have the mirrored number of a 41/5 – it is about family and foundation defining and supporting the individual! (no, I can’t make this stuff up…) If you go back and read the excerpt I took from NPR, you will see it from yet another angle!

I trust you found this wonderful comparison of “The Other Wes Moore”  as fascinating to read as I did to write! This was definitely an easy entry…it almost (almost) wrote itself! Check out Queen of Color, as I write a companion entry about The Color of Choice.

Blessings and have a terrific week. Blessings, Catherine
