Meet Catherine!
Catherine Poole, is known internationally as “The Queen of Color”™ and is an expert in color and human response to color. Catherine earned a Master of Fine Art (MFA) degree from the prestigious Cranbrook Academy of Art, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, and earned a Bachelor of Fine Art (BFA) degree from Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana.
Catherine is formerly National Spokesperson for FreshAire© Choice paint brand (carried exclusively at Home Depot) and proudly represented “The Color Prescription” Campaign. This campaign focused on educating consumers about how color can enhance personal well-being and influence mood.
Catherine was a professor of color theory and graphic design for over fifteen years, including nine years at The University of Notre Dame. While at Notre Dame, Catherine was granted an Eli Lilly Teaching Fellowship for her collaborative research with the South Bend Center for the Homeless.
Her research while at Notre Dame led to her current work with emotions, energy and color in regard to the human body. Catherine’s color theory course included her research into the subliminal use of color in advertising, but also more in depth research with the influence color has on the human body and how to apply that knowledge to environments, interiors, products as well as marketing and advertising venues.
Catherine has presented her unique perspective of color and energy medicine to medical schools, including Indiana University School of Medicine, Eastern Tennessee State University (both leading family practice programs) as well as hospital environments. Medical institutions that have welcomed her advice include Mt. Rogers Community Services Programs of Southwest Virginia, Holston Medical Group of the Tri-Cities area of Tennessee, Johnston Memorial Hospital of Southwest Virginia and Bristol Regional Medical Center, Bristol, Tennessee. Catherine’s client list includes, doctors, celebrities, psychologists, successful business professionals, authors, speakers, athletes, and political figures. Her corporate clients have included Eastman Chemical Company, Reebok International, Newell-Rubbermaid as well as universities, small businesses, institutions, and organizations.
Catherine has been interviewed by House Beautiful Magazine, Redbook Magazine, Women’s World Magazine, contributing author to Amoena Life Magazine, appeared on In Style, WBIR TV Knoxville, Tennessee and is a welcomed guest on radio shows throughout the United States. Internationally, Catherine has lived and worked in Den Haag, Netherlands and periodically conducts presentations and talks in Den Haag and Amsterdam. She lived in Warsaw, Poland and taught The Philosophy of Color at Warsaw University for graduate and doctorate students in Philosophy. Catherine left Notre Dame in 2001 to write her first book, Everyday Lessons. She began working with physicians and clients in 2002 helping them understand the role of color and the energetic system with dis-ease and healing.
Her presentations include Color and Energy Management, The Subliminal Use of Color in Advertising, Beyond Food, Fat, and Fear: Understanding True Weight Release and Color as Non-Verbal Communication. Catherine customizes for all her corporate programs.
